Products and Strategy

The Products & Strategy line of business brings together teams that drive profitable growth either directly through specialist sales channels, or by providing support to other lines of business driving product development, eBusiness, pricing strategies and marketing activities for Bankwest Business.

The Products and Strategy line of business includes:

Specialist Sales

Specialist Sales comprises four teams of specialist bankers, who provide product specific sales and service to customers and bankers in the areas of transactional banking, investment deposits, equipment finance and international and domestic trade.

  1. Asset Finance provides solutions for customers seeking to purchase new or used equipment, machinery or vehicles for their business.
  2. Cash Management & Transactional Solutions (CMATS) is a dedicated team of transactional banking specialists who build transactional banking solutions to meet customer requirements.
  3. Money Market Investments (MMI) Specialises in servicing customers with fixed investment needs. MMI provide wholesale, competitive market linked rates for customers with deposits greater than $500k.
  4. International Trade Finance can provide solutions for any customers who have suppliers to pay – either domestic or international.

eBusiness

The eBusiness team is responsible for developing and delivering the strategy for how Bankwest Business competes through the online channel. Working closely with the IT, Change Management and Marketing teams, the team works to develop online capabilities that enable Bankwest Business to attract and engage, sell and service customers online and facilitate their online banking transitions.

Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications team helps the organisation connect with customers, colleagues and creates sales opportunities. The team provides:

  • Strategic and integrated customer communication advice;
  • Guidance about where, when and how to use the Bankwest brand;
  • Product and brand promotion management through online and offline channels, and;
  • Internet and intranet communications management.

Products & Pricing

The Products & Pricing team drives new product development and pricing strategies for Bankwest Business. The team manages:

  • The development of new lending (including business credit cards) and deposit products;
  • Maintenance processes for existing products including adherence to legislative requirements;
  • The completion of annual product reviews;
  • The launch of product campaigns;
  • The ongoing monitoring of competitive offerings;
  • The review and maintenance of pricing policies including recommending new interest rates to lending and deposit products;
  • The development of strategic partnerships, and;
  • The management and administration of third party relationships

Strategy & Business Performance

The Strategy & Business Performance team exists to provide centralised support to the Products & Strategy line of business across the functions of strategy and research, management information, business performance reviews and interlocks, and operational support. The team’s key accountabilities include:

  • Developing and implementing MI solutions to highlight Products & Strategy results and gaps to plan;
  • Managing interlock processes between Products, Marketing, Front Line Sales, Processing and Finance to ensure effective alignment of assumptions and delivery of targets, and;
  • Managing operational processes for the Products & Strategy line of business, including acting as key point of interlock with Operational Risk, driving a compliance culture within the team.
